BOOM: IDEAL GEOMETRY

The CIFA range of truck-mounted pumps and truck mixer pumps includes models from 20 m up to 80 m.
The different boom configurations ensure maximum operability and versatility, allowing operators to reach any area of the jobsite, even those that are difficult to access, while guaranteeing excellent maneuverability.

The number of sections and the opening geometry enable fast jobsite operations and an ideal road transport configuration, keeping the vehicle compact and easy to handle even with very long booms.

INNOVATIVE DESIGN

The booms of CIFA truck-mounted pumps and truck mixer pumps feature articulated joints with through pins, external rods and triangular structures. This design provides greater strength, durability and rigidity, ensuring stability and precision during both horizontal and vertical movements.
To improve accessibility, the boom turret has also been lightened by routing the pipeline externally, simplifying all maintenance operations.

The boom sections on CIFA models feature different thicknesses and dimensions even within the same section. This construction technique, based on butt welding, creates perfectly balanced sections, lighter where possible and reinforced where necessary, without the use of additional material overlays. The result is a unique, clean and highly technological design.

All structural parts are calculated using finite element method (FEM) simulations. Prototypes undergo fatigue testing on specially developed TEC test benches to simulate and guarantee a service life exceeding the average lifespan of a concrete machine.

CONFIGURATIONS AND MOVEMENTS

Z CONFIGURATION

The Z-fold boom configuration is designed to operate in confined spaces, including indoor environments. The letter Z refers to the geometry created once the boom is unfolded.

This is the typical configuration used on CIFA machines with booms up to 36 m. It is extremely simple to operate, even for less experienced operators, and allows very fast setup times while maintaining a reduced unfolding height, ideal for enclosed environments.

In vertical operations, Z-configured booms also allow maximum extension without compromise.

ZR - RZ - RRZ CONFIGURATIONS

With the evolution toward longer booms composed of multiple sections, CIFA developed new opening systems to keep machines compact and movements simple.

The position of the “R” identifies which boom section creates the 180° geometry during unfolding (1st section, 2nd section, etc.).

This type of opening configuration is particularly effective for horizontal reach, maximizing boom extension while ensuring movement stability and precision.

ROTATOR ON THE LAST SECTION

The rotator positioned between the penultimate and last section removes movement constraints between these sections, greatly expanding the range of possible operations.
With a 360° rotation angle, there are virtually no movement limitations, as demonstrated by models such as the K36L-5, which represents the perfect balance of lightness, versatility and technological innovation.

AUTOMATIC OPENING AND CLOSING SYSTEM

CIFA has always focused on innovation to make complex operations easier and therefore safer.
The automatic boom opening and closing system is one of the most important achievements of the CIFA research and development department. This system is especially valuable for large booms with 6 or 7 sections, providing significant time savings during setup, reducing opening sequences by nearly 40%, while improving operator comfort and ensuring the optimal unfolding sequence at all times.

INSPIRED BY NATURE

The world of shotcrete concrete is unique: machine missions are always unpredictable and often extremely demanding.
For this reason, CIFA developed truly innovative boom designs for the UNDERGROUND range. Models such as ELK and MAMBA can reach up to 18 m vertically and 15 m horizontally and are mounted on a carriage with ± 3 m extension travel, allowing operators to reach distant areas without repositioning the machine.
The underground division draws inspiration from nature: nature is the guiding principle behind machine design, eco-friendly machines capable of respecting both the environment and people, transforming underground jobsites into sustainable ecosystems.

ELK

A 3-section boom with two slewing rings: one horizontal and one vertical. This configuration allows the sections to move both positively and negatively while enabling agile lance positioning to reach even the most hidden tunnel areas.

MAMBA

Equipped with a two-section telescopic boom featuring a rotating table between the first and second section and a horizontal slewing ring, this configuration ensures versatility and ease of use, making operations intuitive and fast.

CST

Features a two-section boom, including one telescopic section with 3 extensions. Combined with the vertical slewing ring, this design creates a highly compact boom capable of reaching up to 10 m maximum working distance while operating efficiently in confined spaces.

DINGO

The most compact machine in the range, with a boom designed according to the same philosophy: two sections, including one telescopic section with 3 extensions, creating the lightest solution in the lineup while maintaining excellent mobility and robustness.
