Material Aspects
Material topics are the aspects that reflect the significant environmental, social, and governance impacts of a company and substantially influence stakeholder decisions.
The impact materiality analysis, carried out in 2022, made it possible to identify and define the material topics that guided CIFA’s strategies within the Sustainability Plan over the last three years. Currently, also considering the upcoming introduction of the standard ESRS (1), the company has started an update of these aspects through a double materiality analysis, conducted in the first months of 2025, with the goal of ensuring continuous alignment with regulatory developments and new reporting requirements
The principle of double materiality implies that the company does not only assess the impacts its activities generate on the environmental and social context, but also considers the potential external financial risks and opportunities linked to the management of sustainability issues. From this perspective, the output generated by the analysis results in a set of material Impacts, Risks, and Opportunities IRO (2), which define the areas of strategic priority for the company in the ESG (3) domain, guiding future choices and actions.
The results of this analysis are presented below, following the breakdown proposed by the ESRS standards themselves, across the three main areas of investigation: Environment, Social, and Governance.
Environment

Social
