Formworks

CIFA has an integrated supply system, made up of design, equipment and products to build tunnels: traditional formwork solutions and segment moulds for tunnels and formwork solutions for bridges, together with the underground machinery for transport, pumping and projection of concrete.

In 1928 CIFA started out in the design and supply of formworks for concrete pours used in large infrastructure, particularly tunnels. The concept of formwork designed and built entirely from steel for the industrialised building world was introduced into Italy in that period by the founder Carlo Ausenda. The system overtook the traditional, obsolete wooden forms, replacing them with new, hydraulically operated metal formworks, CIFA technicians worked to make the product increasingly cost-effective.
